Dr. Speck is a cardiologist and medical director of the Swedish Heart & Vascular Institute Cardiac Wellness program. With her help, the Institute has become a national leader in the early detection and prevention of heart disease, and in disease-reversal and disease-management techniques. Dr. Speck serves as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Washington’s School of Medicine. Dr. Speck earned a BS degree in Biology from the University of Illinois, her medical degree and a MS in Public Health from University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at U.W. affiliated hospitals and her fellowship through the U.W. Division of Cardiology.
Beverly loves food and loves helping others discover ways to enjoy their lifestyle and food choices while maintaining a healthy weight and diet. She understands the personal nature of food choices and is adept at exploring this relationship and helping people make healthy and nutritious choices that are both manageable and realistic. Having completed nutrition education at Bastyr University and the University of Washington, she has a broad understanding of both alternative and traditional approaches to diet. Over the past 20 years she has provided nutrition counseling, been invited to address numerous groups, provided continuing education for teachers, taught college level classes and presented at conferences. Beverly is an expert contributor to over 15 websites and is the author of “Simple and Savvy Strategies for Creating Healthy Eaters”.
John is a career soccer player, playing all through high school and then into college for Seattle University. After earning his B.S. in exercise science from Seattle University, John joined POTENTRx as an exercise physiologist and an ACE certified personal trainer.
Bergen Beck earned her M.S. in Exercise Science with a specialization in Exercise and Sport Psychology from the University of Utah and her B.S. degrees in Exercise Biology and Psychology from the University of California at Davis. As a specialist in mental skills training, she provides consulting to enhance performance by incorporating controllable mental skills with physical readiness.
Bob graduated with his M.S. degree in Athletic Training from the University of Arizona following receipt of his B.A. degree in Philosophy from Western Washington University. Bob served as Head Athletic Trainer for Seattle Pacific University for 28 years. Bob specializes in preventative musculoskeletal analysis and rehabilitative modalities.
Gretchen is a clinical nutritionist with a focus on integrating whole foods and lifestyle changes to maximize health. After completion of a B.A. in Art from Lewis and Clark College, she received a M.S. in Nutrition from Bastyr University. Her experience includes work in outpatient clinics, hospitals and private nutritional counseling. As a board certified specialist in oncology nutrition, she has spent the past 8 years working with cancer patients and survivors.
Jennifer is a Registered Dietitian with a passion for teaching whole-foods nutrition to promote optimal health. She feels that quality food is one of the key foundations to wellness and enjoys helping others find a personal and balanced approach to eating and healthy living. Jennifer earned her B.A. in Communications from the University of Washington and her M.S. in Nutrition from Bastyr University. Her experience includes individual nutrition counseling, public speaking, cancer prevention classes and cooking demonstrations.
Tacey was a competitive swimmer at the University of Washington and completed her education with a B.A. in Textile Design. After graduating, Tacey worked in the applications marketing department at Microsoft before moving to Nashville where she served as operations manager for several companies. Recently returned to Seattle, Tacey joined POTENTRx as office manager.
Kate is a recent graduate of Pitzer College where she received her undergraduate degree in international and intercultural studies. Kate is an avid Ultimate Frisbee player, winning a national title in 2012 with her team at the Claremont Colleges. She serves as a summer intern for POTENTRx as client services coordinator and website manager.
